Duncan W. Main, 77, of Oregon Ohio, passed away on January 23, 2019. He was born on July 29, 1941 to David and Helen (Kenroyal) Main Sr. in Toledo Ohio. Duncan served in the United States military as a marine. He married Doris May on June 22, 1960 and they went on to have two children. Duncan worked as a welder at AP Parts in Toledo, retiring after 30 years. His post -retirement job was working for Oregon City Schools which he enjoyed for 10 years. He was a member of Sylvania Moose, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and the VFW. Duncan loved watching sports, fishing, and playing golf. He got his first hole-in-one on his 73rd birthday. He loved his Detroit Tigers and was a huge Michigan fan. Duncan loved spending time with his grandkids and was their biggest fan at countless baseball, basketball, and volleyball games. Duncan loved traveling to Oscoda, Michigan and New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Duncan also enjoyed walking dogs, Trooper and Trixie. Duncan loved his friends and neighbors and hosted daily get -togethers in his garage they coined “Oregon Village Senior Center.” He enjoyed maintaining his vehicles and took pride in them. Duncan’s greatest love was his wife Doris, whom he devotedly cared for until recently. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Doris (May) Main; children, Scott Main and Marsha (Mike) Brady; Grandchildren, Joseph Brady, Luke Brady, Kaitlin Brady, John Brady, Joshua Brady, Molly Brady, Elizabeth Brady and Anthony Brady; great-grandchildren, Brandon Brady and Greyson Garcia. He was a favorite uncle to many, including David Sutherland, (Tampa) Mark, Matt and Diane Scribner (Sylvania) , Jeff and Rick Debord (Clearwater , Fl), As well as Kim Main of Toledo . His niece, Sue Elliot, will be remembered on the same day as Duncan in Ft. Myers, Fl.We will never forget his sense of humor, his help, his love. His heart was wide open. “No greater love has any man than this that he lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13. A memorial visitation will be held at Hoeflinger-Shank Funeral Home (419-691-6768), 3500 Navarre Ave Oregon, Ohio 43616, on January 28, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. until the start of services at 7:00 p.m. Military honors will be conducted by Northwood VFW at 3:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be made in Duncan’s name to the Northwood VFW.
