Duane E. Lau

Duane E. Lau, 70, of Pueblo, CO, formerly of Oregon, OH, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, in St. Mary-Corwin Hospital, Pueblo, CO. Duane was born December 9, 1939, in Jerusalem Township to William C. and Inez Burow Lau. He was a graduate of Clay-Genoa High School. After graduation he earned his chemical engineering bachelors degree from the University of Toledo and worked in the shipping department for BASF in Whitehouse, Ohio before retiring to Pueblo, Colorado. He was a dedicated Cleveland fan, following both the Browns and the Indians. Duane also enjoyed working in the yard and growing flowers. Duane is survived by his sons, Paul T. Lau Angela Mullins of Pueblo and Duane E. Lau, Jr. of Pelion, SC; grandchildren, Nicholas, Kevin, Miranda and Abbigail Lau and Brittany Lau-Bessinger Trevor Bessinger; one great granddaughter, Maliyah; and sister, Daryl Ann Gibson of Genoa. His parents preceded him in death. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 2, 2010, in St. Johns United Church of Christ, 1213 Washington St. Genoa, with interment to follow in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston, OH. Memorial contributions for Duane may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the donors choice.
