Duane Svend Kroyer

Svend, age 63, of Temperance, Michigan, joined the Lord on Wednesday, September 15, 2021. Svend was born on April 22, 1958 to Duane and Donna (Hall) Kroyer of Toledo, Ohio. He loved his rodeo days as a steer wrestler and calf roper and even made it to the PRC Finals in Madison Square Garden. He deeply appreciated the camaraderie and brotherhood with his Masonic brethren of Rubicon Lodge, Evzones, and Highlanders. Svend was proud of his Scottish heritage, and it showed in the joy he had skillfully entertaining us on his bagpipes. He worked a variety of jobs from construction to copier repair to security. He was preceded in death by his parents and his great-niece, Molly May Pool. He was followed in death by his younger sister, Susan Kroyer. He leaves behind his loving wife, Pia; his older sister, Christine (Tom) Pool; nephews, Jason (Alaina) and Justin (Katlyn) Pool; great-nephews, Zachary and Avery; and great-nieces, Elliana and Ryleigh. A combined memorial service for Donna, Susan, and Svend will begin at 5:00 PM on October 20, 2021 at Walker Funeral Homes, 5155 West Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM prior to the combined memorial service. Shriner Highland Bagpipers will be honoring his life. In lieu of flowers, consider making a memorial contribution to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 North Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Florida.
