Douglas Raymond Shanteau

Douglas Raymond Shanteau, age 52, of Perrysburg passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014, in Hospice of Perrysburg after a long courageous battle with cancer. Doug was born September 10, 1961 in Toledo to Donald R. and Dorothy J. Shanteau. He attended Little Flower Parish grade school, St. Johns Jesuit and graduated from Central Catholic High School. Doug then graduated from Owens Community College with an Associates Degree in Computer Science. After graduation, Doug worked as a computer programmer for the Answer Factory. He left in 1994 to open his own business, Direct Computer, which he operated until October of 2013, closing because of his ill health. Doug was an active member of the Maumee Bay Chapter of BNI. He enjoyed camping, traveling, sports and gardening. Doug had an eclectic taste in music and was a lifelong fan of The Ohio State University and the Miami Dolphins. Doug was preceded in death by grandparents, Anna Mae Feyes Keaton Fair, Ralph Fair, Elmer Keaton; and Raymond and Lexie Shanteau; father, Donald Raymond Shanteau; and Kelly Bucher. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Lyn Shanteau; son, Douglas William Shanteau; daughter, Anna Jane Shanteau; step-son Jason Thomas Maria Henneman; mother, Dorothy Joyce Keaton Shanteau; sisters Michelle Terrence Lehaney Shanteau; Julie Krieg; and Jennifer Kevin Bucher; brother, Donn Shanteau; 12 nephews and a niece. Friends will be received at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. west of Corey on Saturday March 29 after 1 PM where memorial services will follow at 4 PM. Interment will be private.
