Douglas Bruce Patke Sr., a lifelong resident of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on December 22, 2024. Born on April 30, 1947, Doug was a proud graduate of Macomber High School, class of 1965.
Doug began his career as an apprentice at Toledo Mold, where he honed his skills in creating cast iron molds. His dedication and craftsmanship led him to a fulfilling career as a machinist at Obars, from which he retired in 2013. Doug truly cherished his retirement years.
A passionate fan of Ohio State Football and the Detroit Red Wings, Doug found great joy in cheering for his favorite teams. He also loved spending time with his granddaughters, watching them play volleyball and soccer. Doug was an avid viewer of "This Old House" and Bob Ross's painting shows. Doug had a deep love for reading and a special place in his heart for his dogs.
Doug's memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, love for his family, and passion for life will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
Doug is survived by his wife, Deborah Patke; son, Douglas Patke Jr.; daughter, Kristin (Scott) Korczynski; granddaughters, Abby and Ellie Korczynski; sister-in-law, Gail Maier; and niece, Shannon Patke. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Irene (Bertok) Patke; brother, Roger Patke and sister-in-law, Mary Jo Patke.
The family would like to thank the nurses at Toledo Hospital’s Stroke Center for their skilled and compassionate care of Doug.
