Douglas L. Jensen, 63, of Clay Center, Ohio, died Thursday morning, August 28, 2014, at the Genoa Retirement Village. He was born May 23, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio, to Ralph P.C. and Faye D. (VanDorn) Jensen. Doug graduated from Genoa High School and for 30 years worked as a heavy equipment operator at White Rock Quarry in Clay Center. He had been a member of Clay Center Presbyterian Church and former chief and fireman for Clay Center Fire Dept. for 20 years. During his earlier years, Doug enjoyed his boat and fishing, woodworking and playing horse shoes. He also enjoyed working on 50s and 60s cars. Doug is survived by his son, Christopher (Heidi) Jensen of Martin, daughter, Rachel (fiancée, Larry) Johnson of Northwood, granddaughter, Lily Shepherd, grandson, Devin Lee Jensen, and step grandson, Kennith Ish. He is also survived by his siblings, Marie (Paul) Truman of Walbridge, Frederick (Sue) Jensen of Port Clinton and Debby (Neil) Bower of Genoa. His parents and brother, Gary Jensen, preceded him in death. The funeral service will be 12:00 p.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, OH 43430, with two hours of visitation prior from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. Interment will take place in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials for Doug to The Cleveland Clinic, attn Mellen Center, 1950 E. 89th St., Cleveland, OH 44195; the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 401 Tomahawk Dr., Maumee, OH 43537; Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551; or the donors choice.
