Dorothy M. Woessner, 71, of Port Clinton, Ohio passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 at her residence. She was born on October 27, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Martin John and Dorothy (Holmok) McGreevey, Sr. Dorothy started her career as a tax preparer for H & R Block and continued doing taxes for many years. She later worked for the Ottawa County Job and Family Services where she retired after 25 years of service. Dorothy was an avid Cleveland Indians and Lake Erie Crushers fan and enjoyed going to many games over the years. She also enjoyed Halloween and for many years was known for her elaborate displays. In her spare time she enjoyed Civil War Cemeteries, Battlefields, and Geneology. Dorothy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Gerald “Jerry” Woessner; daughter, Shannon (Jack); sisters, Mary Ann McGreevey (Greg) and Mary Beth McDonald (Bob); nephew, Martin John McGreevey III (Julie); niece, Kelley Fischer (Chad); great-nephews, Martin John McGreevey IV, Caden McGreevey, and Cade Fischer; great-niece, Emma Fischer; along with several cousins and close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dr. Martin John McGreevey, Jr., DDS. The family asks that Memorial Contributions go to the Island Safe Harbor Animal Sanctuary, 3620 E. State Road, Port Clinton, Ohio 43452 or to the Susan G. Koman Foundation, 3100 W. Central Avenue, Suite 235, Toledo, Ohio 43606. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at a later date. The Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home and Crematory, 216 Washington Street, Port Clinton, Ohio assisted the family with arrangements.
