Dorothy C. Vaillant, age 80, passed away Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Toledo Hospital. Dorothy was born October 4, 1934 in Toledo to the late Walter and Myrtle Hofstetter. She married Harold W. Vaillant on May 16, 1953 in Toledo and he preceded her in death on November 20, 1999. Dorothy was a 1952 graduate of Scott High School and worked for Rowe Industries as a bookkeeper for 20 years, retiring in 1998. Dorothy was a founding member of Fairgreen Presbyterian Church and a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ. She was a longtime member of the Order of Eastern Star and past Mighty Chosen One of O-Ton-Ta-La Caldron and the Clown Unit. Dorothy loved spending time with her family and adored being with her great-grandchildren. Her family always came first and she will be remembered as a mom and grandma to all. Dorothy is survived by her children, Pamela (Ralph) Hall and Gary (JoAnn) Vaillant; grandchildren, Ryan (Natalie) Hall, Tina (David) Baumgartner, Kevin Hall, Nicholas (Corey) Vaillant, and Joseph (Tabitha) Vaillant; and great-grandchildren, Franklin, Lareina, Chase, Karleigh, Connor, Skyler, Logan, Veda, Grayson, and Grant. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Virginia Northrop, Robert Hofstetter, and Sharon Willis. Visitation will be Sunday, September 13, 2015 from 2-7 pm in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where services will be Monday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551, Start High School Hall of Fame Association, P.O. Box 6859, Toledo, OH 43612 or a charity of the donors choice.
