Dorothy L. Thomas

Dorothy Thomas, 85, of Oregon, OH passed away on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Toledo Hospital. She was born on November 11, 1932 to John and Caroline (Kahl) Butt in Perry Hall, Maryland. She worked at Rossford Ordnance Depot, Selective Service Office in Toledo, and retired from the Social Security Administration as a secretary after 40+ years of government service. Dorothy loved reading, watching old movies, playing cards, spending time with her family, and doing trivia quizzes. She also enjoyed being a part of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary and volunteering at the VA and St. Thomas Aquinas. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph F. Thomas and her son, Steve Thomas. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Ken (Judy), Kevin (Sandi), Jim, Sandi Barr; grandchildren, Stacey (Kyle) Babka, Kelley McClung, Connor and Austin Barr; 4 great grandchildren; siblings, Rose Sheldon and Francis (Ann) Butt. Visitation will take place at Hoeflinger-Shank Funeral Home, 3500 Navarre Ave., Oregon, OH on Sunday, January 28, 2018 from 2 pm – 8 pm. Funeral Services will take place on Monday, January 29, 2018 beginning with prayers at the funeral home at 10:15 am followed by a Mass at Epiphany of the Lord Parish at St. Thomas Aquinas Church at 11:00 am.
