Dorothy Steitz

STEITZ Dorothy E. Dorothy E. Steitz, age 79, of Sunset Village, passed away on Tuesday, September 4, 2007. She was born on November 20, 1927, in Decorah, Iowa to Edna Hanson and Fridolph Peterson. She married the love of her life, William R. Steitz who survives her, on November 19, 1949. Dorothy graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology and was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She was an avid bridge player and a member of the Toledo Garden Club, St. Matthews Episcopal Church Alter Guild and the Bishop Chase Guild. Dorothy traveled the world over her lifetime. She is survived by her husband, William; children, Kathryn, William Mary Jr., Peter Diana, Robert, and Linda Guthrie; grandchildren, Alisa Jason Logsdon, Kevin, Rebecca Andrew LaFountain, Ryan, Dean, Amanda Guthrie, Linda Guthrie and Dorothy Guthrie. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Fredolph and sister, Ardis Gist. Friends may visit with the family on Friday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Andrews Episcopal Church, 2770 W. Central Ave., Toledo, OH 43606 with a memorial service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Gregory Sammons officiating.
