Dorothy Christine Sneider, 68 of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2018, at St. Clare Commons surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born March 1, 1949 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Robert Eugene and Leona (Byrne) Daoust. She was married to Fred Sneider on June 20, 1969 at St. Anne's Church in Toledo, Ohio. Dorothy was a 1967 Central High School graduate and has been a member of St. John XXIII Catholic Community since shortly after its inception. Dorothy's true passion was spending time with her family which she thoroughly loved and enjoyed. She particularly liked spending time with her grandchildren and making trips to visit her children. Family time included playing card games, board games, family camping, and cooking and baking together. Dorothy had an uncanny ability to touch people’s lives. She nourished those around her with love, faith, and music. In her younger years, she had a passion for music, playing piano and violin. Throughout her life she continued to play piano and organ for many different churches. She instilled her love of music in her children and most continue to play piano, guitar, and other instruments. For many years she also took part in the Pulmonary Hypertension and Scleroderma Support groups. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 48 years, Fred Sneider; children Pamela (Steve) Miller, Cheryl (Geoff) Plummer, Marilyn (Mike) Trafelet, Becky (Sean) Stover, Angela (Billy) Horn, Vincent (Crystal) Sneider, Veronica (Pete) Millon, Joseph (Kayla) Sneider; 20 incredible grandchildren; siblings, Marie Wareham, Bob Daoust, Mary Lu Clark, Guy Daoust, John Daoust, Marianne Daoust and Teresa Muller. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and her son-in-law Timothy Ort. Friends and family will be received at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 222 E. S. Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551 (419)874-3133 on Friday, January 19, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a vigil service at 7:30 PM. Prayers will be recited in the funeral home Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 9 A.M with funeral services beginning at 10 A.M. at St. John XXIII Catholic Church 24250 Dixie Hwy., Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Burial will follow in Fort Meigs Union Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation 300 Rosewood Dr. #105 Danvers, MA 01923.
