Dorothy Edwina Nowak, 105, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2023, at Franciscan Care Center, Sylvania. She was born March 17, 1917, in Toledo to the late Frank and Anna (Doman) Paszczykowski. Dorothy married Stanley Nowak and they enjoyed 57 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they traveled to Europe, Hawaii, and all over the United States and Canada. After Stanley’s death in October of 1999, Dorothy and her daughter Christine enjoyed many Sunday trips with her nieces, Betty and Barbara.
She worked as an assembler at the Champion Spark Plug Company for 43 years. In her free time, her hobbies included gardening, sewing, cooking, and baking.
Dorothy was also an active member of St. Aldabert’s Parish and the Toledo Area Polka Society (TAPS).
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Christine, and son, Thomas. Dorothy is survived by a son, Ted (Nadine) Nowak; granddaughter, Courtney (Aaron) Williams; and great granddaughter, Lauren.
Friends are welcome to a visit from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, March 5, 2023, in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.). where funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2023. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
