DOROTHY G. McEWEN Dorothy G. McEwen, age 87, of North Ft. Myers, FL., and formerly of Lake Twp, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2013, in Hope Hospice. She was born in Toledo on September 23, 1925, to Ely Knight and Elinor Whipple. She was employed as a Secretary for Toledo Trust before retiring. Dorothy married Thomas E. McEwen on January 19, 1946 and they were married for 50 years, before he passed. Dorothy was a member of the Eastern Star, an Honorary Millbury Firemaid, and an avid card player at Horizon Village. Dorothy is survived by her loving children, James (Robin) McEwen, Pam (Rick) Genson, and Becky (Brently) Gill; eleven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; and sisters, Irene Mock and Vera (Ray) Steiniger. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; sons, Edward and Donald; and sisters, Ruth Shurtz and Marian Miller. Friends will be received on Friday, July 19, 2013, from 3-9pm in the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home 701 N. Main St. Walbridge, Ohio (419-666-3121) where services will be held on Saturday at 1:00P.M. Interment will follow in Lake Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
