Dorothy Lewis, 89, passed away peacefully in her home on May 17, 2021 with her devoted husband of nearly 69 years, Kenneth, and her four daughters by her side. She will forever be remembered as curious, feisty, a creative seamstress and cook, and an avid reader. She was born on June 18, 1931, in Pittsburgh to Bertha and William Brandt and married her high school sweetheart, Ken, on May 28, 1952. When he accepted a job in Toledo, the young couple lived in several houses in West Toledo before finally settling into their “family home” across the park from Blessed Sacrament Parish on Castlewood Drive. There they raised four daughters, Sandra (Mark) Luetke, Debra (Nick) Koltoniak, Laura Lewis, and Barbara (Mike) Pinkelman. Twenty-three years ago, they moved into a smaller home on Drummond Road where they thoroughly enjoyed visits from their 7 grandchildren, Trinity (David) Gawron, Molly Luetke, Aaron (Megan) Pinkelman, Emily (Aaron) Sapp, Allison (Andy) Livingston, Elizabeth (Justin) Rodak, and Andrew Extejt, as well as 10 great-grandchildren: Sophia, Maggie and Silas Gawron; Althea and Julian Sapp; Ivy, Oaklen, Ember and Aurora Rodak, and Jane Pinkelman. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 18, 2021 at Corpus Christi University Parish, 2955 Dorr St., Toledo, followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Condolences and fond memories are encouraged to be shared on her tribute wall on this page.
