Dorothy (Kemper) Landrum, 97, of Perrysburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
Born in Toledo, May 23, 1925, Dorothy graduated from Waite High School in 1943. As a Senior, she was Homecoming Queen and left school daily at 3 PM to work at Toledo Trust typing up War Bonds. Dorothy worked for the Ohio Highway Department prior to becoming co-owner of Bel Aire Cleaners in Perrysburg. She actively volunteered for over 25 years at St. Rose School and Church and St Luke’s Hospital.
Dedicated to her family, of which she was the loved and honored matriarch, Dorothy was an outstanding golfer and sharp card player, excelling at any table. Quick with a quip, she carried a little “purse” for half-cent family games at the homes of each of her children and grandchildren. She traveled to Europe numerous times and golfed at St. Andrews. Beautiful, bright and self-reliant, Dorothy was mobile, active and quick-of-wit until the very end of her life.
Surviving are her three children; son, Rick Landrum; daughter, Karen (Jerry) Sennett; daughter, Cindy (Joel) Lipman; seven grandchildren — Ricky (Kim), Lance (Karin), Michelle (Charlie), Matt (Ezinne), Marcus (Rita), Samantha (Patrick), Eli (Ashley); ten great-grandchildren — Logan, Luke, Lincoln, Tristan, Contessa, Easton, Von, Ophelia, Sebastian, Theodore.
Friends will be received at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home (419-874-3133), 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, Ohio from 12 to 2:30 PM, on Saturday, November 5, to be followed by prayers and internment at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery. Family and friends will attend 8:00 AM Mass on Saturday, November 5, at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St., Perrysburg, Ohio.
