Dorothy M. Kinsel

Dorothy Mae Kinsel, 89, of Williston, Ohio passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015 in the Edward Marion Knight Hospice Center, Perrysburg, Ohio. Dorothy was born in Williston, Ohio on May 6, 1926 to Christ and Louise (Haack) Nissen and on September 5, 1947 she married Olen A. Kinsel in St. John Lutheran Church, Williston. Olen preceded her in death on June 28, 1988. Dorothy was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston and was the church secretary for 30 years retiring in 1988. She also taught Sunday school and sang in the church choir for many years. She enjoyed crafting, not only for herself but for friends and relatives. Dorothy was also a past leader for both Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Dorothy, also known as Aunt Susie to many in her family, is survived by her children, Timothy (Rebecca) Kinsel, Dr. Barry (Barbara Bayes-Kinsel) Kinsel and Lois Kinsel; grandchildren, Jason Halka, Cory Kinsel, Taylor Miller and Scott Kinsel; great grandson, Scott Kinsel, Jr.; step grandchildren, Jenifer Bayes, and Timothy Bayes, and her step-great grandson, John Palsa. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Olen, siblings, Marvin, Donald, Harold and Ralph Nissen, Viola Liskai and Lucille Farris. A service for Dorothy will be conducted at 11 AM, Monday, November 23, 2015 in St. John Lutheran Church, 21140 W. Toledo St., Williston, Ohio, 43468, with interment to follow in the Allen Township Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 22, 2015 from 2-4 6-8 PM, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio. It was Dorothys request, that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the church Choir Fund or Carillon Fund or the Allen Clay Joint Fire District, Station #1, 21016 W. Toledo St. Williston, Ohio 43468.
