Dorothy O. Johnson

Dorothy O. Johnson, 96, of Williston, Ohio, died Monday evening, August 29, 2016, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, Ohio. She was born in Martin, Ohio, on March 9, 1920, to Arthur and Nina (Post) Witt; and on August 13, 1941, in Martin, Ohio, she married Edwin J. Johnson. After 52 years of marriage, Eddie preceded her in death on October 21, 1993. Dorothy was a longtime member and current matriarch of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston, Ohio. She and her husband, since 1945, lived in Williston in a home that was once a one-room schoolhouse. Dorothy really enjoyed gardening around her yard. Dorothy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Wayne R. and Becky Johnson, seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, and sisters, Audrey Yackee and Elizabeth Babe Fisher. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Elaine Johnson and sister, Irene Moritz. A funeral service for Dorothy will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday, September 1, 2016, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio 43430, where visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. Interment will be in the Allen Township Cemetery, Williston. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to St. John Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 235, Williston, Ohio 43468.
