Dorothy L. Hunt passed away peacefully December 10, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in South Toledo. Dorothy, of Sylvania, Ohio, was born in Toledo to Allen V. and Edith Brown. One of four children, she was the last survivor of the Brown family. Dorothy married Richard C. Hunt on July 18, 1940. She was a homemaker, mother, and skilled artist and seamstress making countless outfits, crafts, and even Halloween costumes for her children. An accomplished cook, Dorothys signature specialty was homemade chocolate fudge which was far better than anything commercially available today. In later life, Dorothy and Richard traveled extensively. The most noteworthy being a 50th anniversary trip to Hawaii, where Richard was stationed during WWII at Barbers Point Pearl Harbor. Later they took the Queen Mary to visit ancestral homes in England and returned on the Concorde. They also visited, the old USSR on a People to People delegation and toured all of the major cities. Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Mark Kingsley; and grandson, Robert C. Hunt, II. She is survived by her husband, Richard C. Hunt; son, Robert C. Victoria Hunt; granddaughter, Lyndsay E. Hunt; grandson, David Amy Kingsley; numerous nephews, their children and cousins; and niece, Judy Wood. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church, 7000 Erie St. Sylvania, OH at 11:00am.
