Dorothy Ann Hicks-Malak

Dorothy Ann Hicks-Malak, 86, of Holland, Ohio passed away on January 15, 2018 at St. Anne’s Hospital. She was born on October 29, 1931 in Bowling Green, Ohio to Floyd and Mildred (Eishen) Houser. Dorothy married Francis Hicks and following his death was remarried to Michael Malak who also precedes her in death. Dorothy was employed for several years as a nurse’s aide and at Toledo Airport as a screener. She was a member of the Maumee Eagles. Dorothy was very artistic and enjoyed crocheting, as well as knitting and embroidery. Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Tim (Sufi) Hicks, Mike (Betsy) Hicks and Sue (John) Vallance; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Patricia Houser. She was preceded in death by her husbands; sons, Pat and Chris “Kit”; siblings, Charles Houser, Cyril Houser and Dolores Camp. Friends will be received on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Neville-Shank Funeral Home, Reynolds Corners, 5052 Dorr St., Toledo, Ohio 43615 where funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Springfield Township Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Toledo Area Humane Society.
