Dorothy Hawker

Dorothy R. Hawker, 96, of Perrysburg, OH died, Monday, November 14, 2011, in The Manor at Perrysburg. She was born on March 6, 1915 in Pana, IL to Dominic and Magdelena (Rogalis) Chellero and was married on February 3, 1945 in Pana, IL to Charles R. Hawker who preceded her in death on November 25, 2010. Dorothy volunteered as a nurse’s aide at the Pana Memorial Hospital during WWII. She later worked in both selling and management for over 30 years in the clothing retail business retiring in 1980. Following her retirement, Dorothy and her husband moved to Ohio. Dorothy loved to cook, and enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Perrysburg. She is survived by her son, Bob (Wava) Hawker of Perrysburg; grandchildren, Jonathan (Lisa) Hawker and Christopher (Sommer) Hawker; great-grandchildren, Jackson, Katelyn and Nico. She was preceded in death by her husband, and seven brothers and sisters. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, November,18 2011 at St. Rose Catholic Church, 215 E. Front St. in Perrysburg. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made in the form of contributions to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
