Dorothy Fountain

March 24, 1935 — January 18, 2026

Dorothy Ann Fountain (Bowers), 90, passed away unexpectedly at the Lakes of Monclova on January 18th, 2026. She was born to Charles and Bertha (Smith) Bowers on March 24th, 1935 in Toledo, Ohio. Dorothy graduated from Burnham High School in Sylvania and spent her life as a loving wife to Martin (Joe) Fountain. They married August 1, 1959 and raised her four children with the phrase, "just wait until your dad gets home!"

Dorothy volunteered her time as a den mother for Cub Scouts and was a Girl Scout leader. She was very involved in church as a member of The Rosary Altar Society and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and sold religious goods after Mass at St. Richards Parish is Swanton. She also volunteered for their church festivals, the prayer chain, and funeral luncheons. She enjoyed her many hobbies, such as embroidery, reading, puzzles, and gambling with her siblings. She also loved traveling, especially with her family.

She will always be remembered for her generosity, humor, playfulness, and spunk. Although she never drove, she always had a ride from family or friends to wherever she wanted to go. She found a ride every day to spend hours with her husband, Joe at the nursing home he resided in at the end of his life. Her devotion to family and unwavering love were undeniable. She was a pivotal part of countless unique and memorable experiences with all of her loved ones throughout her life and will be missed by everyone who knew her.
