Dorothy June Lloyd Elliott, 84, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away on February 14, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. June was born on June 19, 1927 in Toledo, Ohio to Arthur and Edith Bowlus Lloyd. A lifelong resident of Toledo, June attended Monroe Elementary School, Robinson Junior High School, and Scott High School, graduating in 1945. In the late 1940s she was a secretary at Warren Elementary School. June enjoyed music. She sang with choirs at First Congregational Church when she was young and in choruses in high school. June married Garold F. Elliott. They were married for 43 years before his passing. Garold and June had 8 children. They were member of First Congregational Church where she directed the nursery room for many years. From the time they met until shortly before Garold passed away, they sang together with Garold playing his guitar. On occasion they shared their talents at the Assembly of Christians, the church they attended in the later years of their lives. June was an avid gardener. A few of her other hobbies included painting and writing. She also enjoyed years of camping with her family in Northern Michigan, at what is now Sleeping Bear National Lake Shore- Platte River Campgrounds. June was preceded in death by her husband, Garold F. Elliott, Sr.; her son, Garold F. Elliott, Jr.; and her daughter, Katherine Ann Lehman. She is survived by 6 children, Jenny Rea Jay C., Dorothy Wakefield, Joe Elliott, Edie Elliott Christina, David Elliott Kelly, and Allen Elliott Heather; 15 grandchildren, Tony Carol, Jeremiah, Josh, Christy Dan, Jennifer, Brandon, Matthias, Amy, Danni, Paul, Kirstin, Jacob, Kaleigh, Rachael, and Annie; 3 great-grandchildren, Maddy, A.J., and Daniel; and son-in-law, Michael Lehman. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Assembly of Christians, 3619 Sterns Rd. Lambertville, MI.
