Dorothy A. Carter

Dorothy A. (Bosse) Carter, 82, of Perrysburg, Ohio died Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Sunset Village. She was born in Woodville, Ohio on August 30, 1935 to Fred and Elsie Bosse. Dorothy attended Solomon Lutheran School through 8th grade, then graduated from Woodville High School. She also attended Davis Business College. She married Donald L. Carter on September 6, 1959 and they spent almost 59 years together in marriage. Dorothy worked for Owens Illinois for 10 years as an Executive Secretary. Dorothy was a longtime member of Zoar Lutheran Church and volunteered there for over 25 years as a secretary. She was also a founding member of All Thumbs Perrysburg Garden Club and loved plants and gardening. Dorothy had a passion for adventures; things like hot air balloon rides, golfing, white water rafting, bike riding, and many cruises all over the world were some of her favorite activities. Dorothy is survived by her husband, Don Carter; daughter, Dawn (Bill) Link; grandchildren, Kyle Link, Emily Link; brother, Donald Bosse; sister, Mary Huston; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter in 1960; and son, PJ on June 3, 1963. Friends will be received at Witzler Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg (419-874-3133) on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Zoar Lutheran Church, 314 E. Indiana Ave., Perrysburg at 10:00 a.m. with funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery.
