Dorothy “Dottie” S. Bredbeck, 94, of Port Clinton, died Saturday, October 17, 2015 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. She was born on August 11, 1921 in Venice, OH to Lester and Clara (Zeller) Kurtz. On July 8, 1950, she married Richard “Dick” Bredbeck, and he preceded her in death on March 31, 1984. Dottie helped her husband run his civil engineering / surveying business, as well as running the family farm and worked as a librarian for Danbury Schools. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, member of the Mother’s Club, Port Clinton, and the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, 50 year member, Port Clinton. Dottie was also involved with a lot of school activities and a Girl Scout and Brownie leader when her daughter was a member. Dottie is survived by her daughter: Cindy (Walter) Burdorf of Mundelein, IL, grandchildren: Kristin Burdorf and Erich Burdorf, and nephews: Lee and John Bredbeck, Rick and Ron Green. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister: Helen Green. Funeral services for Dottie will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 22, 2015 at St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, with visitation one hour prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Port Clinton. Memorial contributions in memory of Dottie may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, Port Clinton or Danbury High School Library. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, Port Clinton is assisting the family with arrangements.
