Dorothy Ann Bailar

Dorothy Ann Bailar, 83, of Northwood, Ohio and formerly of Toledo, Ohio, died Tuesday, September 25, 2012 in the Edward & Marion Knight Hospice Center, Perrysburg, Ohio. Dorothy was born in Great Falls, Montana on October 9, 1928 to Robert & Dorothy McGivern. She married Kenneth Bailar in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 6, 1946 and he preceded her in death January 24, 1994. Dorothy worked for 24 years for the former Ohio Citizens Bank in Toledo in the human resources department and as a loan officer; she retired in 1983. After her retirement she volunteered for a number of organizations including the Toledo Zoo and the Call for Action departments of Toledo channel 11 and 13. She was a board member and treasurer for many years for the former West Center of Toledo. In her free time she enjoyed golfing in leagues at Giant Oak and Ottawa Park golf courses, but he most cherished time was spent with her family and close friends. Survivors include her son in law, James Schlievert of Curtice, OH, grandsons, James Jill Schlievert and Dr. Randall Schlievert, both of Toledo, great-grandchildren, Jori & Jaci, brother, Kenneth McGivern of Akron, OH, sister, Margaret Tokerud of Great Falls Montana, best friend, Richard Jaquemotte, of Bay View, Ohio, along with her special nieces and nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Sheila R. Schlievert, brother Bobby McGivern, and sister, Betty Rundle. It was Dorothys wish to be cremated, so to her memory, the family has suggested memorial contributions to the Parkcliffe Communities of Northwood, 3055 E. Plaza Blvd., Northwood, OH 43619, or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, OH 43551. The Robinson-Walker Funeral Home, 501 West St. Genoa, OH 43430 is assisting the family with arrangements.
