Dorothea F. Behm

Dorothea F. Behm, 96, of Martin, Ohio, died Sunday, July 24, 2016 in Otterbein-Portage Valley Retirement Village, Pemberville, Ohio. She was born on January 30, 1920 to Elmer and Henerritta (Zernikow) Schmidlin in Toledo, Ohio. On March 24, 1945 she married Lloyd J. Behm in Elliston and he preceded her in death on March 4, 2008. Dorothy was a homemaker for her husband and children working on the family farm, sewing, baking, canning and gardening. She was a member of the Riverview Auxiliary and the Zion United Methodist Church in Elliston. Dorothy was very active member of her church, teaching Sunday School, working with the Methodist Womens group, along with many other activities. She enjoyed her activities but her favorite part of life was spending time with her family! Survivors include her children: Annette (Mel) Wicks, Kathleen (Charles) Kaylor and Wayne (Marilyn) Behm, 6 grandchildren: Amy (Andrew) Walston, Michael (Rachael) Kaylor, Matthew (Bethany) Behm, Sara (Don) Summerton, Tiffiny Wicks, Dustin (Katie) Wicks and 7 great grandchildren: Alexandra & Arianna Walston, Michael & Colleen Kaylor, Andrew Behm, and Annaliese & Nolan Summerton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother, Raymond Schmidlin and grandchildren, Jeff & Bryan Wicks. A service for Dorothy will be conducted at 11 AM, Thursday, July 28, 2016 in Zion United Methodist Church, 2212 N. Benton Main St., Elliston, Ohio 43432, where there will be visitation from 10-11 AM. Visitation will also be held from 2-8 PM, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa, Ohio 43430. Interment will be in the Elliston Cemetery, Elliston, Ohio. Memorials for Dorothy may be directed to the church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 E. River Rd., Perrysburg, Ohio 43661.
