Doris L. Rook

Doris L. Rook, 91, of Rocky Ridge, Ohio, died Saturday evening, March 30, 2013, in Riverview Senior Healthcare Campus, Oak Harbor, Ohio. She was born May 10, 1921, in Fremont, Michigan. On June 25, 1979, in Port Clinton, Ohio, she married Donald R. Rook, who preceded her in death on March 22, 2013. She retired from Quick-Kut in Fremont. Doris enjoyed listening to country music and especially loved Patsy Cline. She loved talking to people, and she and Don enjoyed spending time with friends at Robs Place the Limestone Tavern, where they had their own reserved bar stools. When weather permitted, Doris enjoyed riding her three-wheeled bike. Doris is survived by her son, Gerold Jerry Hebner of Sandusky, one grandchild, two great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, along with eight step children and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Shirley Brown and step son, Richard Monday. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Oak Harbor. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2013 by Reverend Ralph Schibler with interment to follow in Elliston Cemetery, Elliston. The family has requested memorials for Doris to St. John Lutheran Church, 450 N. Rocky Ridge Rd., Rocky Ridge, OH 43458.
