Doris Jeanne Ruckman Roberts

Doris Jeanne Ruckman Roberts, 70, of Oak Harbor, died Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Heartland of Waterville. She was born on March 27, 1939 in Toledo to William and Mary Doris Parsil Ruckman. On February 4, 1984 in Port Clinton she married David Wesley Roberts, and he preceded her in death on November 2, 2000. Jeanne worked as a homemaker. She was a member of LaPointe United Methodist Church, Toastmasters, and a former member of the Port Clinton Moose Lodge #1610. She enjoyed playing the piano and writing poems. Jeanne is survived by her son: William Sue Hoffman of Oak Harbor; step-daughters: Pamela Mike Winters of Oak Harbor, Cecelia Solomone of Erie, PA, and Teresa Van Lieu of Akron, OH; step-son: Norman Kathleen Hoffman of Tennessee; sisters: Annette Thorp and Kathy Spry both of Greenwood, SC; 9 step-grandchildren; and 5 step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 from 2- 8 p.m., with family present from 2-4 6-8 p.m., at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at the funeral home by Pastor Chuck Kaylor. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
