Doris Mae Paul

Doris Mae Paul, 97, of Oak Harbor, OH passed away, Monday, January 17, 2022 surrounded by family at her daughter’s residence in Oak Harbor.  She was born on May 31, 1924 in Elmore, OH to Louis and Lucille (Winkel) Geldien.  Doris worked for Ayling Reichert Co. in Oak Harbor for over 30 years, before retiring.  She was a longtime member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Oak Harbor where she served on the food guild to help with the Salisbury steak fundraiser and volunteered her time in the food pantry.  Doris also had a feisty side to her and she wasn’t afraid to tell you what she thought, with not much of a filter.  Doris enjoyed shopping, helping on the farm, gardening, and sewing, especially the embroidered baby blankets she made for all the grandkids, which have become a treasured keepsake to the family.  Doris really loved spending time with her grandkids.

Doris is survived by her children, Ron Almendinger, Dan (Tammy) Almendinger, Diane Peters, Sue (Jim) Betcher, Marilyn Lubiejewski, Bonnie (Dennis) Butzin, Don (Deb Edwards) Schultz and Lynn (Doug) Uher, 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, brother, Louis “Darwin” Geldien, and nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her previous husbands, Clarence Schultz and Frank Paul, 3 grandchildren, and siblings, Lowell Geldien and Marilyn “Babe” Huffman.

Visitation for Doris will be Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 4-8 p.m. at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, where funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2022.  Burial will follow in Locust Point Cemetery, Carroll Township, OH.  Memorial contributions may be given to BCS Food Pantry at St. Paul, Oak Harbor.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.walkerfuneralhomes.com .
