Doris M. Osburn

Doris M. Osburn, age 81, of Maumee, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at her residence. She was born on April 8, 1936 in Maumee, Ohio to Philmore and Alice (Brooks) Digby. Doris was a lifelong resident of Maumee and graduated from Maumee High School where she was a majorette and a member of the choir. After high school, she worked at City Loan and Savings, leaving to marry and raise a family. Afterward, she returned to the workforce as a podiatrist assistant in Maumee. She then put aside her own career to help establish IMCO Carbide Tool (a family owned company). Later, she worked at Casual Kapers in Marco Island, FL and as a jewelry consultant, specializing in diamonds, for Service Merchandise in Holland, OH. Doris was a true family woman, dedicated to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with them by cheering them on during sporting events, attending school activities, going out to eat, and making sure the family gathered during holidays. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, politics and golf. She was a member of Heatherdowns Country Club and was the first single woman to be accepted as a member of the Valleywood Country Club. Sister, Phyllis (Walter) Minnick; children, Perry (Debi) Osburn, Julie (Dave) Clymer, Matthew (Kimberly) Osburn, Todd (Marliza) Osburn; grandchildren, Alexis (David) Beachdell, Brett Osburn, Erica (Matt) Braun, Aaron (Kat) Whitlow, Steven (Lindsay) Whitlow, Jillian Whitlow, Joshua (Jess) Whitlow, Benjamin Osburn, Catherine Osburn-Price, Kelsey Osburn, Mitchell Osburn, Andrew (Ashley) Osburn, Karen Osburn and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles and husband of 30 plus years, Lawrence. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am-12:00 pm on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, Ohio with funeral services to follow at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville, Ohio.
