Doris Ann Nye

Doris Ann Nye, age 87, of Toledo, passed away on Wednesday, April 03, 2019 in the comfort of her home. Doris was born on June 19, 1931 to Steve and Ada (Hutchinson) Marshall in Genoa, Ohio. She married Charles Nye on Sept. 4, 1948 and he preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and took great pride in sewing and making baby and children’s clothes over the years for her children and grandchildren. She crocheted and made great fudge. Doris was very independent and strong willed and will be missed by her loving family. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jennifer (Dale) Reutter and James C. Nye; grandchildren, Jay Doty, Jeffery (Diana Gilbert) Doty, Jeremy Doty, Jami (Donny Petree) Doty, Joshua Nye, and Todd Nye; great-grandchildren, Craig, Justin, Deaven, Haylee, Grayson, Jessika, Michael, Emily, Sabastian, Kaleb, Nathen, Bryson, Seneca and Teegan; and siblings, Ron Marshall and Robert Marshall. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; great-grandchildren, Macie Jo and Keegen and sister, Alice Bideman. Friends will be received on Friday, April 5, 2019 from 2:00-6:00 p.m. at the Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 701 N. Main St. Walbridge, Ohio 43465. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow after the service at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
