Doris Jean Kopp

Doris Jean Kopp, age 90, of Toledo, died December 28, 2020 at Genacross Lutheran Services, Toledo. She was born May 22, 1930 in Toledo to the late Donald and Gertrude (Kruse) Dorf. Doris was a homemaker and was employed with Gladieux Catering. She enjoyed keeping her mind active reading novels, painting ceramics and sharing her keen sense of humor. Doris found joy in spending time with family, especially her great grandchildren. She will also be remembered for her great smile that she loved to share that could brighten the day of another. Doris was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 60 years, Wilbur Kopp; and brothers, Wendell and Junior. She is survived by her children, Cindy (Rick) Hayes, Wilbur “John” Kopp, Jr., Sheila (Kirk) Colvin, Jennifer (Robert) Tefft and Carrie Brewer; twelve grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Heinz. Visitation will be in the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Facial coverings and social distancing will be required at all events. Contributions in her name are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to thank the Genacross and hospice staff for their compassionate care of Doris.
