Doris F. Joseph

Doris F. Joseph of Maumee, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016 at the age of 92. She was born July 20, 1923 to the parents of the late Louis Ferris and Dora Dahrooge Ferris in Springfield MA. She was married to the late PHILLIP JAY JOSEPH and lived in the Toledo area for the past 75 years. They were married for 30 years before Phillip death in 1971. Their four children, Phillip Joseph Jr. (Linda), Patricia Lewis (Robert), Victor Joseph (Terrie), and her best friend and son, Lawrence Joseph and two grand children, Michelle Joseph and Phillip J. Joseph. She is also survived by her sisters, Laurice Ferris of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Louise Vernadakis (James) of Tyngboro, MA. and many cousins in the New England area. She is preceded in death by her two sisters, Rosa Ferris Russo and Mary Ferris. Doris was a member of St. George Eastern Orthodox Cathedral all her years in Toledo. She was an avid golfer and painter while spending many winters in Florida and she loved talking about the history of Toledo. She saw the many changes over decades. She also loved flowers and her garden and couldnt wait until Mothers Day so she could plant her flowers for the summer. She was very proud of those garden. Visitation will be on Sunday, Feb. 7th from 3-7 PM and Monday from 10:00- 11:00 AM at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral, 3754 Woodley Road, Toledo, Ohio. where services will held at 11:00 AM Monday. Trisagion Prayers will be offered at 6:00pm on Sunday. Interment will be at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery 1502 W. Central Ave. Toledo on Feb. 8th, 2016. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. George Orthodox Cathedral.
