Doris L. Hansen

Doris Dorie L. Hansen, 60, of Clay Center, Ohio, died Monday, October 6, 2014, at Bay Park Community Hospital in Oregon, Ohio. Dorie was born June 7, 1954, in Toledo, Ohio, to Dale R. and Betty Lou (Beekman) Venzke. She graduated from Libbey High School and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Williston. On October 4, 1974, in Williston, Ohio, she married Terry H. Hansen and he survives. For many years she worked as a playground monitor at Genoa Area Local Schools. Dorie was a Clay Center Firette and a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed scrapbooking, camping, traveling and dirt track racing. She was also very much an Elvis fan. Dorie also took care of her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Terry, Dorie is survived by her children, Holly (Nathan) Stewart of Clay Center, Tammy (Matt) Sandwisch of Perrysburg and Terrylou (Alan) Coger of Dunbridge, grandchildren, Ariel, Noelle, Krista, Braxton and Jourdan and step grandchildren, Kelly and Joe. She is also survived by her mother, Betty Lou Tanler, sisters, Debbie (Rich) Wilkinson and Diane (Jerry) Porath and brother, David Venzke. She was preceded in death by her father, Dale R. Venzke, sister-in-law, Sue Norwalk and mother-in-law, Hilda Hansen. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, October 8, 2014, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 9, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church in Williston, with burial to follow in Elliston Cemetery, Graytown.
