Dora M. Schiller, age 83, of Farmington, MI, and formerly of Oak Harbor, OH, died Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Clare Bridge of Farmington Hills, MI. She was the beloved wife of the late Myron Schiller; loving mother of Todd Schiller and Claire (Paul) Smith; dear sister-in-law of Opal Bristow (the late Shelby); aunt to Norman (Sally) Bristow and Sharon (Tom) Smith; great aunt to Kyle and Matt Bristow and Cassidy Smith; sister-in-law of Kitty (the late Fred) Bylow, Fran (the late Frank) Bylow and the late brother, Wilburt Bylow. Dora was born November 28, 1931, in Toledo, Ohio, the daughter of Mable and Joseph Bylow. Dora graduated from Waite High School, Class of 1949, and then graduated from the Toledo School of Nursing on full scholarship, Class of 1952. She was married 57 years to Myron Schiller. First and foremost, Dora was dedicated to her family, enjoyed camping and traveling throughout the U.S. and Europe. Dora worked for many years as a registered nurse, caring for individuals with the Toledo Visiting Nurses Association, St. Marys of Livonia, Michigan, and Sinai of Detroit. She retired with her husband Myron to his beloved farm. A founding member of Orchard United Methodist Church, Farmington Hills, MI, she enjoyed teaching toddlers Sunday school for many years. Dora was most recently a member of First United Methodist Church of Farmington, MI. She actively supported Mayfair Cooperative Nursery, was a Girl Scout leader and active on the PTA. Dora was also a founding member of the Toledo Tower Club Foundation, a lifetime member of the Riverview Auxiliary, Ohio Reads at Carroll Elementary School and a member of the Oak Harbor Literary and Social Club. The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Trinity United Church of Christ, Elliston, Ohio, with burial to follow in Elliston Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Monday, January 12, 2015, at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home Crematory, 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor. Memorials for Dora may be directed to Riverview Auxiliary, 5770 N.
