Donna M. Spalding

Donna M. Spalding, age 80, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2013 at Suncoast Hospice in Pinellas Park, FL where she was visiting dear friends. Donna May, the daughter of Albert Frances Wehner was born May 11, 1932 in Monroe, MI. She graduated from Monroe High School with fond memories as head majorette for the band. She raised her children and made lifelong friends in Wernerts Corners. She married the love of her life, Donald Spalding, in 1983. Don preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 2012. Together, Don and Donna shared their love for their families, traveling, and living on the water. Their love for boating was not only a weekend retreat, shared generously with family and friends, but also created memorable traditions and formed lasting friendships. They looked forward to summers at Put-in-Bay, Ohio, never missing New Years Eve weekend at the bay. Donna retired from Seaway Foodtown after a long career in the meat department. She and Don truly enjoyed retirement, traveling all around the world, collecting magnets from each destination. Donna was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Her beautiful spirit, fun-loving outlook on life, and most amazing sense of humor will be remembered by all. Donna is survived by her sister, Rita Jim Beck; brother, Ron Wehner; children, John Greene, Roxanne Gordon, Diane Jeffrey Haynes, Mike Kim Greene; step children, Jeffrey Jan Spalding, Leslie Mark Kott, Doug Jenny Spalding, Sue Frank Hughes; 24 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 1st husband John Greene; brothers, Peter, Milton, Al Richard. Friends may visit the family from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave west of Corey Rd where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM.
