Donna Schneider

Donna Jean Schneider “D.J.” passed away June 12, 2014 at Swanton Valley Rehabilitation Center, feeling the love and support from her family, and facility extended family. Donna was born on August 17, 1929 to Hartford and Dorothy Brown. She was a 1947 graduate of Delta High School. Donna furthered her education after giving birth to 7 children and obtained her Bachelor of Education Degree from The University of Toledo, in 1964. She was a teacher in the Toledo Public School System for 27 years. Donna’s early years were spent teaching core subjects in the elementary grades. She later taught elementary music, bringing her joy for the subject to hundreds of school children. Prior to illness, Donna’s hands were never idle, as she was an avid seamstress and a very “crafty” woman. Donna is preceded in death by her parents and youngest daughter, Kelly Sheline. She is survived by her best friend and husband of nearly 40 years, Ralph Schneider. Ralph and Donna thoroughly enjoyed the years they spent together, golfing, bowling and traveling the country via motorcycle. Donna lovingly supported her surviving children, Robert (Linda) Sheline Jr., Timothy Sheline, Randy (Tom) Britton, Scott Sheline, Mark Sheline and Tracy (Jeffrey) Clegg; 6 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. Additional family includes 3 step-children, 7 step-grandchildren, 1 step-great grandchild, and all of her “kids” at Swanton Valley. The family would like to thank the staff from Swanton Valley and Heartland Hospice for their loving care and kindness. Friends can visit the family at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway, Holland, Ohio 43528 (419-865-8879) on Monday, June 16, from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm. A noon memorial service at Neville Funeral Home will immediately follow. Memorial contributions can be made to Heartland Hospice or the Donor’s Choice.
