Donna F. Mercer

Donna Faye Mercer age 95 of Toledo, OH formerly of Mansfield, OH passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Kingston Care Center of Sylvania. She was born in Marion, OH on April 17, 1922 to Cleo and Verna (Morgan) Parish. Donna was a registered nurse and received her nurses training at Mercy School of Nursing in Hamilton, OH. She was employed at Peoples Hospital in Mansfield, OH for 25 years retiring in 1984. She also served in the US Army as an RN during WWII from 1944-1946 at Fort Knox. Surviving is her son, Mark (Kyle McDowell) Mercer of Tacoma, WA; daughters, Mary (Ron) Schneider of Toledo; and Linda (William) Mercer-Prest of Fairview Park, OH; granddaughters, Gina (Jason Atkinson) Mercer, Jennifer Mercer and Emily (fiance Sean Lewallen) Schneider. Also surviving is a brother, Robert Parish of Marion, OH and sister in-law, Lucy Freshour of Upper Sandusky, OH. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by her husband Jack in 2006. Private graveside services will take place at The Grand Prairie Cemetery in Marion, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 4441 Monroe St., Toledo, OH 43613.
