Donna Kroyer

Our Heavenly Father has called Donna to join him and her dance partner, Duane, on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. She was born May 24, 1930 to Harold R. and Marguerite S. (MacDonald) Hall in Toledo, Ohio. Donna was a dedicated woman who believed that nothing was more important than God and her family. Her wisdom, humor, and guidance will be missed by all who knew her. She was a 1949 graduate of Sylvania Burnham High School. In 1949, she was named “Miss Sylvania.” Donna was a cheerleader throughout high school and it was on the basketball court that she met the love of her life. After high school, she attended the Toledo Hospital School of Nursing where she received her RN degree in 1952. On August 17, 1952, she married Duane and together, they had three children. She worked at the Toledo Hospital until her retirement in 1991. They traveled a lot, but ballroom dancing was their love. At one time, she fostered service dogs. Donna was proud to be a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother “GiGi.” Donna is survived by her daughter, Christine (Tom) Pool; grandsons, Jason (Alaina) and Justin (Katlyn) Pool; great-grandsons, Zachary and Avery Pool; great-granddaughters, Elliana Pool and Ryleigh Chambers; and daughter-in-law, Pia Kroyer. Donna was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her brothers, Harold, Robert, and Melvin Hall; and her great-granddaughter, Molly May Pool. She was followed in death by her son, Svend Kroyer, and her daughter, Susan Kroyer. A combined memorial service for Donna, Susan, and Svend will begin at 5:00 PM on October 20, 2021 at Walker Funeral Homes, 5155 West Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, Ohio. Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM prior to the combined memorial service. Nurses Honor Guard and Shriner Highland Bagpipers will be honoring her life.
