Donna Sue King, 67, of Perrysburg, Ohio went to her Heavenly home on Thursday, May 20, 2021, one day before the death of her mother. Donna fought a courageous three- year battle with cancer. This past year she lived in Cleveland traveling back and forth to appointments and treatments. She was happy to come back to her home on March 1, 2021 spending as much quality time with her family as possible. Donna was born to Armand and Lois (Crotty) King on November 26, 1953 in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Her father's military assignment took the family to Bad Nauheim, Germany where she lived for 2 years. She also lived in Knoxville, Tennessee; Tucker, Georgia; Huntington, West Virginia; and made her permanent home in Perrysburg, Ohio in 1963. Donna retired from HCR Manor Care in Sylvania after 27 years of faithful service. Donna was a baptized 55- year member of The First Baptist Church of Greater Toledo. She also was an active member of Palestine Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, for 47 years. Donna's greatest joy was spending leisure time with family and friends. She adored her nephews and nieces. She was an accomplished artist with ceramics and won several awards for her talents. She completed a Christmas village that continues to be displayed year-round in her home which she shared with her mother. In her spare time Donna made fleece blankets for homeless shelters, family, and friends. Surviving are her sisters Linda (Terry) Stockner of Perrysburg, Patricia (David) Bilyeu of Greenville, Illinois; and brother James (Geri Hewitt) King of Worthington; nephews, Chris Stockner, Max King, Jack King, Andrew Bilyeu, Jacob Bilyeu, Mark Bilyeu, and one niece, Kelly (Lucas Grimm) Stockner. Great nephews are Brody Grimm and Oliver Bilyeu, and great niece, Taylor Grimm. She is preceded in death by her father Armand King (1999). The family would like to thank the Cleveland Clinic Bone Marrow Transplant Team: Dr. Betty Hamilton, Jamie Elberson, Kayla Giannetti, Christina Ferraro, and Linda McLellan for their tireless efforts and compassionate care for nine months. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, aides, and volunteers at Hospice of NW Ohio for their tender care and support. Visitation will be Saturday, June 5, 10:00 A.M. at Witzler -Shank- Walker Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary St., Perrysburg, OH (419-874-3133). A celebration of Donna's life will follow at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at Fort Meigs Cemetery, Perrysburg. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital or to Hospice of NW Ohio.
