Donna Ditmyer

Donna M. Ditmyer, 90, of Ottawa Hills, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 11, 2023, in her home at the Woodlands. She was born August 18, 1932, to Raymond H. and Margaret (Yost) Wheeler in Cincinnati, OH. Donna grew up in Greenhills, a village in Hamilton County, where she worked at the concession stand at the community pool in the summers. She attended Miami University in Oxford, OH, and worked for many years as secretary for a group of doctors. She then became a personal assistant at Cincinnati General Hospital, where she would meet her husband, a medical student, Paul Ditmyer. Donna and Paul were former members of both the Inverness Club in Toledo and The Landings Club in Savannah, GA. She enjoyed golf, tennis, and took great pleasure in volunteering for numerous local causes. She was a kind, social woman who was always quick to greet anyone with a warm and genuine smile.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Bruce (Edie) Ditmyer; sister, Marjie (Paul) Holcomb; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of over 62 years, Dr. Paul Ditmyer, Jr.; daughter, Lisa Ditmyer; sister, Lois Zapf; brother, Raymond Wheeler; and parents.

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 18, 2023, beginning at 1 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, OH, where a Funeral Service will begin at 4 p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Cancer Society or The Toledo Museum of Art.
