Donald Evans Widmer, Jr.

Donald Evans, Widmer, Jr., 65, of Curtice, Ohio, died Tuesday afternoon, February 12, 2012, at his home. He was born October 27, 1947, in Fostoria, Ohio, to Donald, Sr. and Reva Rentz Widmer. On January 16, 1988, in Genoa, Ohio, he married Linda L. Schimmel, who preceded him in death November 9, 2006. Don worked for Chrysler Toledo Machining for 31 years retiring in March of 1999. He was a social member of the VFW Post #9816 and the American Legion Christ Dunberger Post #537 both of Oregon. Don is survived by his son, Craig Gale Widmer of Gibsonburg, daughter, Carol Doll of Luckey, brother, Jerry Joanne Widmer of Burgoon, sisters, Beverly Mannies of Weston and Pamela Franks of Bowling Green, and nine grandchildren. His parents and wife preceded him in death. There will be no visitation and a graveside service will be held in Allen Township Cemetery, Williston, 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013.
