Whitner Donald Baxter Donald Baxter Whitner passed onto Eternity surrounded by his loved ones January 2nd, 2010. Born March 7th, 1931 in Indianapolis, IN. to Willis and Ola. He was raised in Perrysburg. A graduate of BGSU he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon and active as a BGSU Alum. He met Donna Thompson at an SAE affair at Lake James. He and Donna shared many interests and were inseparable, best friends for over 55 years. They raised their family in Old Orchard and spent summers at Bird Lake. He enjoyed camping, traveling, tennis, golf, theatre, concerts, jazz and dancing. Don was involved in the Jay Cees, the HBA, the Republican Club, The Model A Club, The Elks Club, Jazz Society, and on the Board at First Congregational Church in his early years. Don was a beautiful Christian Man who worshiped at Calvary Assembly of God and Westgate Chapel. Don was a Builder and Developer in Ohio, Michigan and Florida. His main projects were Brandywine County Club, Embassy Estates, Little Streams, Indian Hill, and Commodore Island. He also developed projects in Innisbrook, Tampa, Fort Meyers and Sanibel Island Florida. Don is survived by His Wife Donna; daughters Cheryl Whitner and Cathy Smith; son Stephen; The Phillip Whitner Family of Perrysburg; and Sisters-in-law Mary Lou Leonard and Jeanie Rerucha. He was proceeded in death by his brother Billy and daughter Pamela. The family will receive guests on Thursday January 7th, at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W Sylvania Ave.west of Corey after 2 PM Thursday where a Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:30 PM.
