Donald J. Weikinger

Donald James Weikinger, 89, of Millbury, Ohio, died early Monday morning, August 27, 2012, in Mercy-St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. Donald was born April 2, 1923, in Defiance, Ohio, to George B. and Harriet Burns Weikinger. On May 25, 1994, he married Beverly J. Puhl Oldham and she survives. Donald worked as a brakeman on the railroad for 28 1/2 years retiring in 1978. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Genoa. Gardening, working word puzzles, and playing cards were some of Dons interests. In addition to his wife, Beverly, Donald is survived by his step children, Linda Marie Steiner of Florida, Brenda J. Mark Piasecki of Napoleon, Michael W. Alice Oldham of Columbus, Gregory Toby Oldham of Florida and Douglas L. Oldham of Williston, 12 step grandchildren, 13 step-great grandchildren and 3 step-great-great grandchildren . He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Raymond Weikinger, and sisters, Georgia Russ, Margie DeParish, Betty Kuchcinski and Delores Boots Latus. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2012, at the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, 501 West St., Genoa. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 204 Main St., Genoa, at 11:30 a.m. following the visitation. The family has invited friends and family for a fellowship gathering and luncheon in the church hall immediately following the Mass. The graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. in Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials for Donald to go to the Luther Home of Mercy, P.O. Box 187, Williston, OH 43468.
