Donald M. Vollmar Jr.

July 8, 1950 — June 16, 2025

Donald M. Vollmar Jr., 74, of Perrysburg, Ohio, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025 with his daughters by his side. He was born on July 8, 1950, in Toledo, Ohio to Donald and Dorothy Vollmar.

After attending Rogers High School, Don served in the U.S. Navy for four years. During his enlistment he met his wife of 52 years, Dorothy, while stationed in Rhode Island. After his service, Don went on to work in specialty manufacturing and fabrication, eventually becoming the President and CEO of Lockrey Manufacturing.

Don and Dorothy were devoted to their family. They loved to have their house packed with all their family every Christmas Eve; a beloved annual tradition for the entire Vollmar family where all were welcome and no child left empty-handed. They especially took joy in spending time with their grandkids, who loved going on special outings with their Papa.

Don cared deeply about the people he worked with and saw them as part of his extended family. All those who worked with him can attest to his incredible work ethic and determination. Even outside of his long work hours, he would never stop moving; he was always building or fixing something out in his meticulously maintained pole barn. He was known by everyone as someone you could depend on.

Don was preceded in death by his wife, who passed away on December 12, 2022, his parents, his brother Michael Hudson and sister-in-law, Shelley Vollmar. Don is survived by his daughters, Donna Delong, Deidre (Joseph) Callahan, and Dena (Jacob) Moeller; his grandkids, Austin (Kassidy) Callahan, Hannah Callahan, Hailey Moeller, Tyler Moeller, and Riley Moeller; and by his great-grandson Harrison Donald Callahan. He also leaves behind his siblings, Debbie (Rick) Bryan, Darryl (Annie) Vollmar, Dan Vollmar, Dean Vollmar, Diane Vollmar, and Dane (Beth) Vollmar, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Witzler-Shank-Walker Funeral Home, in Perrysburg, Ohio. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 10:30 AM, at the funeral home. Interment will follow after the service.

Donald will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of hard work, devotion to family, and generosity will forever be remembered. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to the charity of your choice.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at the Willows at Bowling Green for their exceptional compassion and care.
