Donald Trainer of Toledo passed away November 10th, he was 86. He said he had done more than most in his life-and hes right-he did. Traveling thousands of miles on his beloved Goldwing motorcycle gave him enormous pleasure. Coworkers at Ford he was a skilled millwright will remember him arriving on his bike rain, snow or shine. He was born in Pekin, Indiana and had great memories of working the farms and driving wildly on the curvy, hilly roads of southern Indiana. After spending time in Italy at the end of WWII he married Aileen and joined a construction crew driving the big Caterpillars that built the OH and PA turnpikes. Many adventures followed: One of the best was meeting what would become lifelong friends in Denver, PA in 1949. These much loved people enriched and changed the course of his life. He and Aileen married 66 yrs. entertained themselves by pulling Airstreams all over the country looking for places of interest and meeting the best people ever. What fun they had! Don was a long time member of Christian Fellowship South and served as needed. Many long lasting friendships were forged here. The years of fellowship and the ongoing support of this remarkable church have provided great comfort. His last year has been his biggest challenge dialysis but his stoic determination to live gave him more time with us. He lost his beloved son Steven in 1995. His daughter Donnie and husband Mike Erskine have provided him with grandchildren Lynn, Rusty, Chris, Sara and 6 great grandchildren. He was one of the good ones and will be missed so much.
