Donald W. Strassler

STRASSLER DONALD W. Donald Strassler of Toledo passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2007. Born December 14, 1925 in Terre Haute, Indiana, moved to Toledo in 1961 where he was employed by Lion Store as Traffic Manager, retiring in 1989. Donald is a World War II Navy veteran where he served in the Philippines, South Pacific and the waters of Europe. He is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Ann and grandson, Joseph Bilek. Survived by daughters Donna Joe Bilek, Beverly Vern Stanz of Arizona and Carol Frank Duncan; grandchildren, Cherie Todd Muetze, Dawn Chas Bacca of Arizona, Darren Stanz of Wyoming, Andrew Pooley, Matthew Pooley, Des Mike Shroyer, Sean Duncan, and Kayla Duncan; great-grandchildren, Joseph and Jenna Muetze, Ashley and Chaz Bacca of Arizona, Devon and Emily Pooley; sister Wanda Duane Bensley of Terre Haute Indiana, brother Max Sharon Strassler and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family may visit Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave., west of Corey Rd. Funeral services will begin Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Melvin Grossman officiating. Interment to follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
