Donald Dean Stafford

Donald D. Stafford, age 81, of Monclova passed away Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at the Lakes of Monclova surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 15, 1933 in Herrick, Illinois to Fred and Abby (Neudecker) Stafford. After living in several Illinois locations the family relocated to Monclova. After graduating from Anthony Wayne High School, he worked several jobs and enlisted in the Air Force in 1953. After serving four years of active service in Tacoma, Washington and Germany he joined the Ohio Air National Guard at Toledo Express Airport and put in 26 years with them, retiring in 1984. Don married Ruth Holloway in 1953. They spent a year in Washington and 22 months in Germany and settled in Monclova on their return. Don is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ruth; sons Jeffrey (Elsa) and Russell (Peggy); daughter-in-law, Brinda Stafford; granddaughters, Melissa (William) Yoakum, Samantha (Andrew Berry) Stafford and great granddaughter, Aubrey Lee Yoakum. Preceding him in death were his parents and brother, Richard Stafford. Friends and family will be received at the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant, Maumee on Friday, November 7, 2014 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
