Donald Dee “Sparky” Slayden, 75, of Port Clinton, OH, passed away, Tuesday, May 01, 2018, at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center, surrounded by his loving family. Don was born on July 22, 1942 in Sharron, KS, the son of Ferdenan and Thelma Ruby ((Catlin) Slayden. On February 13, 2006 in Attica, KS, he married Thelma (Wagaman) Cutcher Slayden and she survives. Don worked as a truck driver. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Don will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory are: Wife: Thelma Cutcher Slayden; Sons: Gary Slayden, Barry Slayden & Michael Slayden; Step-Children: Becky Groodenough, Lori Taylor, Jim Cutcher, George Cutcher & Nellie Ruggles; many loving Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren; Sisters: Lu Ann Brough, Sherri Priddy, Terri Bates, Donna Ditwileder & Rhonda Northcut. Don was preceded in death by his parents and daughter: Tammy Slayden. There will be a luncheon for family & friends, Saturday, May 05, 2018 from Noon to 3:00pm at the Armory at Camp Perry. Burial will be in Prairie Rose Cemetery, Spring Grove, KS. Memorial contributions may be given to the Ottawa County Humane Society, 2424 E. Sand Rd., Port Clinton, OH 43452. Gerner-Wolf-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory, Port Clinton, OH has assisted the family with arrangements.
