Donald A. Schmaus

Donald A. Schmaus, 65, of Maumee, Ohio passed away, Monday, January 18, 2010 in Hospice of Perrysburg, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 29, 1944 in Toledo to Alfred and Alta Micham Schmaus. Don was employed with Local 1393 as a Millwright for many companies, he recently received his 45 year pin for dedicated service. He enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Lutheran Bowling League, Don also collected model cars, coins and money and was an Ohio State Buckeye fan. Don served as a Scout Master and earned the honor of Eagle Scout. The widower of Virginia Ginger Schmaus who passed away September 27, 2007, Don is survived by his loving family, son, Bryan Julie Schmaus; daughter, Jennifer Ryan Phillips; mother, Alta Schmaus; grandchildren, Madison Schmaus, Kayla Jones and Abby Phillips; and sister-in-law, Cindy Schmaus. In addition to his wife, Don was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Schmaus and brother, Jim Schmaus. The family would like to thank Swan Creek Retirement Village, Senior Independence and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their loving care and support. Family and friends may visit Wednesday, January 20, 2010 from 2-8 p.m. in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, OH where funeral services will be held Thursday, January 21, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee.
